A Global Education Guide

An Introduction to the
GLOBAL EDUCATION GUIDE
Teachers and students need to be able to understand and navigate our interconnected world. This requires a great deal of global competence. Global education builds the skills required to be globally competent: cultural awareness, collaboration, awareness, action, and diplomacy.
For me and my students, the need for global education shows up every day. From the coffee we drink to the corn and cattle that surround us in rural Nebraska, understanding how our lives are connected to the world at large is key to being Career & College Ready. It also has a profound effect on, as my school puts it, "Becoming the Best Version of Ourselves, Together."
The Global Education Guide that you will find across this website is intended to provide resources and ideas in making global education accessible for everyone. To that end, I invite you to be curious and explore the site. You will find three main tabs at the top of every page: Teach, Travel, and Learn. "Teach" offers resources and tools for educators getting started with global education in their classrooms. It also has a subpage with insights into how learning looks in my own classroom. "Learn" helps teachers and other stakeholders build their own global competence. "Travel" highlights my experiences abroad with and without students and how those experiences shape my own understanding of Global Competence.
I invite you to explore becoming a globally competent Bulldog with me. Be You. Be BLUE.
Be Brave. Learn. Unite. Engage & Explore.
